Chattanooga Man Charged With Murder of Chickamauga Resident

Last Friday the GBI’s Calhoun office and the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, the TBI, Federal Probation office and Hamilton County Sheriff’s teamed up to arrest a man for murder. 41-year-old Nicholas Antiono Cheaton of Chattanooga has been charged with the murder of William Oliver Jones of Chickamauga. Jones was found dead at this home on March 14th. Cheaton was booked into the Hamilton County Jail, he was extradited Monday to Walker County. The results of the autopsy on Jones have not come back from the GBI Medical Examiner’s office. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Walker County Sheriff’s Office. Once the investigation is complete, the files will go to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit DA’s office for review.
