Walker County, Ga. — May 25, 2025 — Powerful storms rolled through Walker County on Sunday evening, knocking down trees and some power lines were affected–leaving many residents without electricity.
The storms hit during the early evening hours, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning. Emergency officials reported downed trees and utility lines in several areas across the county.
Power outages were widespread, with utility crews working into the night to restore service. Officials have not reported any injuries as of this time.
Walker County Emergency Management urged residents to avoid downed lines and report any storm damage to local authorities. Cleanup and power restoration efforts are expected to continue.
