Fort Oglethorpe Gears Up to Host City Swim Meet July 11–12

Fort Oglethorpe, GA — The water is ready, and the excitement is building as Fort Oglethorpe prepares to host the 2025 City Swim Meet on Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, at the Fort Oglethorpe City Pool.

Swim teams from across the region will gather to compete in this highly anticipated two-day event, bringing athletes, families, and fans together for a weekend of spirited competition and community celebration.

In preparation for the meet, the Fort Oglethorpe City Pool will close to the public beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, and remain closed through the end of the event on Saturday, July 12.

While the pool will be reserved for competition only, residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and support the athletes from the stands.

“Fort O is proud to welcome swimmers from all over,” city officials shared. “This is a chance to show off our incredible local hospitality and cheer on some talented young athletes.”

Spectators can expect a high-energy atmosphere and plenty of exciting races as swimmers go head-to-head in a variety of age groups and events. Whether you’re a longtime swim fan or simply looking for a fun community event, the City Swim Meet promises to deliver.
