LaFayette Middle School’s FFA chapter has earned one of the highest honors in the National FFA Organization, being named a 3-Star Chapter in the National Chapter Award Program — the top ranking a chapter can achieve.

The prestigious award recognizes the chapter’s outstanding work in developing student leaders, serving the community, and promoting agricultural education. LaFayette Middle School FFA will be formally honored at the National FFA Convention & Expo this fall in Indianapolis, Indiana.

To earn 3-star status, chapters must demonstrate excellence in all three areas of the National Chapter Award Program: Growing Leaders, Building Communities, and Strengthening Agriculture. LaFayette’s chapter excelled across the board, showcasing initiatives that made a measurable impact at the local, state, and now national level.

“This award reflects the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our members,” said FFA Advisor Wendy Matteson. “Our students have taken initiative in planning and carrying out activities that make a difference in their community and prepare them for future leadership roles.”

The National Chapter Award Program honors FFA chapters that implement meaningful, student-led projects designed to benefit members, schools, and local communities. Only a select number of chapters nationwide are awarded the 3-star distinction each year.

The recognition also highlights the ongoing support from teachers, parents, and community partners who help make the chapter’s work possible. LaFayette Middle School FFA continues to embody the FFA motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.
