Drivers traveling on I-75 through north Georgia next week should prepare for overnight lane closures as maintenance crews conduct bridge repairs in the area.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, weather permitting, crews will be working on two separate bridge sections on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, August 19 and 20. Each night, two right northbound lanes of I-75 will be closed while repairs are underway.
On Tuesday night, the closures will affect the stretch of I-75 over Peavine Creek, located between mileposts 352 and 353. On Wednesday night, crews will shift to the bridge over State Route 146, between mileposts 353 and 354.
The closures will begin at 8 p.m. each night and remain in place until 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect potential delays during the work hours.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and to follow posted signs and detours if applicable.
