In a dramatic comeback effort marked by grit, patience, and power at the plate, the LaFayette Ramblers softball team overcame a 7-run deficit and two weather delays to defeat Calhoun in a thrilling contest this week.

Senior pitcher Marlie Day anchored the Ramblers defensively, going the distance with a complete game. She allowed just 3 earned runs over 7 innings and struck out 5, keeping LaFayette within striking distance.

The Ramblers’ offense came alive with contributions throughout the lineup. Sarah Brooke Kelehear and Addi Hogue each went 4-for-5, consistently setting the table for scoring opportunities. Jocelyn McCallie added a 3-for-4 performance and scored a run, while Tamra Yancy delivered a game-changing moment with a 3-run home run as part of her 2-for-4 day.

Emma House also went 2-for-4, driving in two runs, and Brooklynn Myers contributed a hit and 2 RBIs. Bralie Blevins added a hit and an RBI as the Ramblers chipped away at the early deficit before ultimately pulling ahead for the win.

It was a total team effort from LaFayette, who now turn their attention to Saturday’s home matchup against Dade County. Varsity and JV doubleheader action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
