The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has appointed Joel Dillingham as the new District 6 Area 4 Manager, putting him at the helm of all construction and maintenance projects in Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, and Walker counties.
Dillingham brings nearly two decades of experience with GDOT to the role, most recently serving as Assistant Area Construction Manager for the same region. Over his 18-year career, he has held various positions including engineering technician, project manager, and roles in construction management and inspection.
“I’m excited to lead our team as we continue to address the needs of the traveling public here in northwest Georgia,” Dillingham said. “We have a lot of projects we are looking forward to getting underway in the near future.”
A Georgia native who grew up in Rome, Dillingham has had a front-row seat to the state’s rapid growth and evolving infrastructure needs.
“Georgia is a fast-growing state,” he said. “Our team in Area 4 and all of GDOT will continue to enhance the roadways to keep all of Georgia on the move.”
As Area 4 Manager, Dillingham will oversee critical projects aimed at improving safety, mobility, and road conditions across the four-county area.
