The region volleyball tournament is underway this week in Calhoun. The LaFayette Ramblers are the number two seed. The Ramblers play today starting at 5pm in the semifinals. A win today and the Ramblers play for a region championship Thursday at 6:30pm. Calhoun is the host school as the number one seed.
It was a storybook ending on Senior Night for the LaFayette Lady Rambler softball team as Emma Parker delivered a walk-off double to lift LaFayette to a thrilling win. Parker went 2-for-4 at the plate, with both of her RBIs coming on the game-winning hit that capped an emotional night for the home team.
Harley Perkins also had a strong showing at the plate with two hits, while Marlie Day dominated in the circle, pitching a complete game and striking out five.
LaFayette honored its eight seniors, celebrating their dedication and leadership.
The team is back in action today, hosting Sonoraville in the final home game of the regular season. Varsity takes the field at 5:30 p.m., with JV to follow.
