Police are investigating the death of an individual found near the parking lot of the Fairway Recreation Center over the weekend.
According to Captain Caine Railey, officers were called to the scene on Saturday, November 15, after the person was found unresponsive near the parking area by the ballfields. The death is being treated as an apparent suicide, and authorities say there is no threat to the public.
The name of the individual has not been released.
Summerville police say no additional information will be provided at this time out of respect for the family.
