LaFayette Rifle Team Sets Season High, Wilke Qualifies for State Championship

The LaFayette High School Rifle Team posted its best performance of the season as it hosted the Etowah Air Force JROTC, defeating the visiting squad 1,129 to 1,114.

Faith Wilke led LaFayette with a standout score of 295 out of 300, earning her a berth in the GHSA State Championship. Wilke also recorded a perfect 100 in the kneeling position and set a new school record, surpassing the previous mark of 294.

Giliah Burris delivered a personal-best score of 287, while Ollie Meadows finished with 279 and Scotty Bernard added 268.

The win brings LaFayette’s season record to 4–2, keeping the team in third place in Area 10 GHSA riflery standings.

LaFayette will be back on the range for a home match against Woodstock High School.
