Walker County Schools Announces 2025–2026 Teachers of the Year

Walker County Schools is celebrating excellence in education with the announcement of its 2025–2026 Teachers of the Year, honoring outstanding educators from across the district.

Each honoree was selected by their individual school in recognition of their dedication, compassion, and positive impact on students, families, and colleagues. District officials say the teachers exemplify the very best of Walker County Schools and play a vital role in shaping the future of local students.

The 2025–2026 Teachers of the Year are:

  • Chattanooga Valley Elementary School — Stephanie Davis

  • Chattanooga Valley Middle School — Todd Zinkann

  • Cherokee Ridge Elementary School — Jamie Patterson

  • Fairyland Elementary School — Kacey Farmer

  • Gilbert Elementary School — Nicole Pittman

  • LaFayette Middle School — Wendy Matteson

  • LaFayette High School — Sonni Brown

  • Naomi Elementary School — Kathryn Jefferis

  • North LaFayette Elementary School — Kristen Amant

  • Ridgeland High School — Tracie Wimpee

  • Rock Spring Elementary School — Stacey Underwood

  • Rossville Elementary School — Morgan Thompson

  • Rossville Middle School — Jillian Young

  • Saddle Ridge Elementary/Middle School — Curt Hitchens

  • Stone Creek Elementary School — Bailey Farnell

  • Walker Launch — Shannon Wells
