Walker County officials are announcing a new phone number for Animal Control as part of an effort to improve access to staff and streamline communication across county departments.
Beginning January 2, 2025, all Animal Control–related matters should be directed to 706-924-0053, according to county officials. The new number will be used for reporting animal cruelty or neglect, animals at large, aggressive animals or bites, and sick or injured animals.
In addition to calling, residents may also submit complaints or questions by email at [email protected].
The Walker County Animal Shelter’s main phone number will remain unchanged. The shelter can still be reached at 706-375-2100, though officials say updated extensions will be in place for adoptions, animal surrenders, and the county’s voucher program.
