Walker County residents will have an opportunity to recycle their natural Christmas trees free of charge on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025.
The annual Christmas tree recycling day will be held at the Walker County Landfill from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Officials say the event is open to the public and is intended to provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of live holiday trees after the season ends.
Only natural Christmas trees will be accepted. Artificial trees will not be allowed, and all trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel and other decorations before being dropped off.
County officials encourage residents to remove all non-natural materials in advance to help ensure a smooth and efficient recycling process.
