Just days after postponing a public hearing related to the potential removal of Mayor Trey Deck, the City of Chickamauga has canceled its regularly scheduled February City Council meeting.
The meeting had been set for today at 6 p.m.
In a press release issued by the city, council members said any future meetings will be scheduled and publicly noticed in accordance with applicable law. No additional details were provided regarding the reason for the cancellation or when the next meeting may take place.
The cancellation follows heightened public interest in city government proceedings after a previously scheduled meeting to consider ousting Mayor Deck was postponed.
City officials have not announced a new date for either the regular council meeting or the postponed public hearing.
