Construction Progress Continues at Traverse Park in LaFayette

The City of LaFayette says construction is continuing to move forward at Traverse Park, with several major features already taking shape.

In an update posted on the city’s official Facebook page, officials said inclusive playground elements were installed last month. Crews have also planted new trees throughout the park, which will provide shade and help enhance the natural landscape, including areas along the disc golf course.

Despite the progress, the park remains an active construction site and is not yet open to the public. City officials emphasized that all areas of the park—including the wheels park and rock climbing features—are currently closed while crews continue pouring sidewalks, planting trees, and moving equipment throughout the site.

Residents are being asked to stay out of the construction zones due to safety concerns.

The city says the project remains on schedule, with an estimated opening date of June 2026. Once completed, officials say the new park will offer expanded recreational opportunities for residents to enjoy.
