According to the Sheriff’s Office, multiple reports have been received from residents who were contacted by callers claiming they had missed a court date or jury duty. The callers reportedly identify themselves as employees of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials emphasize that this is not how the Sheriff’s Office conducts business.

Residents are urged not to provide any personal or financial information to anyone they do not know, especially over the phone.
