The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is expanding grocery access for families in northwest Georgia, with one of two upcoming distribution events set for LaFayette.
A food distribution will be held March 19 at LaFayette First Baptist Church, providing free groceries to individuals and families who may be struggling to put food on the table. Organizers say assistance is available to anyone in need, and you do not have to be a Georgia resident to receive help.
The LaFayette event is part of a broader effort to address food insecurity across the region. An additional distribution is scheduled for March 14 at the Mack Gaston Community Center Pavilion in Dalton.
In addition to in-person events, the food bank offers an online tool to connect residents with nearby resources. By visiting its website and selecting “Get Help” and then “Find Food Near You,” users can access an interactive map of local pantries and meal sites, sortable by location and hours of operation.
Officials encourage anyone facing food insecurity in the LaFayette area to take advantage of the upcoming distribution or use the online search tool to find assistance closer to home.
