Walker County voters will return to the polls May 19 for Georgia’s General Primary Election, which will include several local races for county offices and a municipal special election in Rossville.
On the Republican ballot, two incumbents are seeking re-election to the Walker County Board of Education.
In Board of Education District 2, incumbent Karen Harden will appear on the ballot, while Travis Q. Middleton is listed as the incumbent candidate for Board of Education District 3.
Voters will also decide a contested race for Walker County Commission District 1, where three Republican candidates are running for the seat. Those candidates include Randy Pittman, JJ Lewis, and Jarret Lassetter.
In Walker County Commission District 2, Marcus Veazey will appear on the Republican ballot.
In addition to the county races, voters in Rossville will participate in a non-partisan special election for Rossville City Council. Three candidates are running for the council seat: Jennifer Miller, Elaine Alder, and Shannon Carter.
The May 19 election is part of Georgia’s statewide primary, during which voters will select party nominees for various offices that will appear on the ballot in the November general election. Local election officials will announce details on early voting and absentee ballot opportunities closer to the election date.
