Traverse Park Nearing Completion Ahead of Honeybee Festival Opening

The City of LaFayette says construction on Traverse Park is moving forward and remains on schedule to open in time for the annual Honeybee Festival on May 30.

Earlier this month, the city’s Public Works team assisted with planting dozens of trees at the new park, which is being developed with federal funding. Officials say the project is nearing completion and is beginning to take shape as crews finish final details ahead of the anticipated opening.

City leaders  are reminding residents that Traverse Park remains an active construction site and is not yet safe for public use.  Officials are asking the public to stay out of the area until work is complete and safety inspections are finished, noting that the final phase of construction is underway as preparations continue for the park’s debut during the Honeybee Festival.

The city thanked residents for their patience and support as crews work to complete the project and prepare Traverse Park for its official opening later this spring.
