The LaFayette High School track and field team turned in a strong performance at the Gordon Lee Invitational, highlighted by a third-place overall finish for the Rambler boys and a record-breaking night for Porter Sentell.
Sentell led the way with a dominant showing in the sprints, capturing first place in both the 100 and 200-meter dash. He also broke his own school record in the 100 meters with an impressive time of 10.54 seconds.
Kevin Carmichael finished second in the 110-meter hurdles, while Gabriel Candies placed third in the same event. Jake Nave added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, and Zaire Grissom earned second place in the shot put.
Alex Dodson also had a strong night, finishing second in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the long jump. On the girls side, Destiny Proctor placed seventh in the discus with a personal-record throw of 75 feet, 11 inches.
In relay action, the Lady Ramblers’ 4×100-meter relay team of Alex Dodson, Jazlyn Mosley, Azerah Miller, and Jazlyn Capello finished fifth overall.
