Walker County celebrated the grand opening of new pickleball courts in Rock Spring on Thursday. Officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Walker Rocks Park, located on the Walker County Civic Center campus on Highway 27. The new courts are part of ongoing improvements to the park. In August of 2024, Walker County received a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant from the National Park Service to support phase three of the Walker Rocks Park project. County leaders say the new courts will provide another recreational opportunity for residents and visitors.
