LaFAYETTE, Ga. — The Walker County, Georgia African American Museum and Memorial Park is inviting the public to attend a special groundbreaking ceremony for the new Love, Peace and Unity Park.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. on West Villanow Street in LaFayette.
Community members, local leaders, and supporters are encouraged to attend as construction officially begins on the park, which is designed to serve as a space for reflection, community gathering, and celebration of unity.
Organizers say the park will highlight the importance of love, peace, and unity while honoring local history and fostering connections within the community.
The ceremony marks an important milestone for the project as it moves from planning into development.
