The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as detectives investigate a burglary and theft at Saddle Ridge Elementary-Middle School.

According to a press release from Sheriff Steve Wilson, the incident occurred sometime between March 27 and April 6, during the Walker County Schools spring break period.

Investigators say the suspect or suspects targeted the school’s Forest Kindergarten building, located about 300 yards in front of the main campus. Entry was made by removing a door hasp, allowing access to the structure.

Once inside, significant damage was done, and several items were either destroyed or stolen. Among the missing or damaged equipment are a ninja obstacle course, zip line, hammocks, cargo nets, and camping chairs. Authorities estimate the total value of the stolen and damaged property at approximately $2,330.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the burglary to come forward. Tips can be submitted through the department’s website or by calling their office directly.

The investigation remains ongoing.
