Red Flag Warning Issued For North Georgia

SHARE NOW

North Georgia is facing an increased fire danger Sunday as dry and windy conditions move in behind a cold front.

While some areas may see light rain overnight, conditions will quickly dry out by Sunday morning. A Red Flag Warning has been issued from noon to 8 p.m. by the National Weather Service, with the possibility of expansion farther southeast.

Low humidity, gusty winds, and dry vegetation will create a high risk for rapidly spreading fires. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning and use extreme caution throughout the day.
