The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam involving callers posing as law enforcement officers.

According to the sheriff’s office, several citizens have reported receiving calls from individuals claiming to be deputies. The callers allegedly tell victims they have missed a court date and may face consequences.

Officials emphasize that the sheriff’s office does not make these types of calls.

Residents are urged not to share personal or financial information with anyone they do not know. Authorities say anyone who receives a suspicious call should hang up immediately and report the incident to local law enforcement.
