The LaFayette Rambler Track and Field team delivered an impressive performance at the region meet held Monday night at Calhoun High School, with several athletes earning spots in the upcoming sectional competition.

Leading the way for the Lady Ramblers, Alex Dodson turned in a standout performance, placing second in the girls 100-meter dash and third in the long jump. Her finishes secured qualification in both events.

On the boys’ side, Porter Sentell continued his strong season by capturing first place in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, advancing to sectionals in each event.

Additional qualifiers included Zaire Grissom, who placed fourth in the boys shot put, and Kevin Carmichael, who finished second in the 110-meter hurdles. Both performances earned them advancement.

The boys 4×400-meter relay team—Jordan Ridley, Levi Collins, Jake Nave, and Payton Cameron—also qualified with a fourth-place finish.

Several other Ramblers remain in contention as alternates. Tamra Yancy, Gabriel Candies, and Elijah Decker each recorded fifth-place finishes and could advance if a qualifying athlete is unable to compete.

The sectional meet is scheduled for May 2 at Jefferson High School.
