Early Voting Set for May 19 Primary in Walker County

WALKER COUNTY, GA — Voters in Walker County will soon have the opportunity to cast ballots early ahead of the May 19 General Primary.

Early voting is scheduled to run from April 27 through May 15, with polls open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Walker County Elections Office on South Main Street in LaFayette, as well as at Rossville City Hall.

Additional early voting locations will be available from May 9 through May 15, including the Chickamauga Civic Center and Fairyland/Lookout Mountain City Hall.

All early voting sites will offer extended hours on May 12, operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What’s on the Ballot

The May 19 primary includes a wide range of federal, state, and local races, along with nonpartisan judicial elections.

On the Democratic ballot, voters will see races for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and other statewide offices, along with District 14 U.S. House and State Senate District 53 contests.

The Republican ballot also features competitive races for U.S. Senate, Governor, and multiple statewide positions, along with congressional and local contests.

In addition, voters will weigh in on nonpartisan judicial races, including seats on the Georgia Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Superior Court.

A special local election for a Rossville City Council seat will also appear on ballots for eligible voters.

Election Day

Election Day is set for Tuesday, May 19.

Election officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of early voting to avoid potential lines and ensure a smooth voting experience.
