Walker County Fire Rescue is looking to add new firefighters to its ranks, with applications now being accepted for positions offering a starting salary of $53,965.
The department is advertising a variety of benefits for new hires, including a 3% pay increase for those certified as an EMT-I, Advanced EMT or Paramedic.
Employees are also offered family health, dental and vision insurance, county-paid short- and long-term disability coverage and a competitive retirement plan.
Firefighters work a 48/96 shift schedule and receive 96 hours of holiday pay along with 180 hours of paid time off annually. The department also offers unrestricted FLSA trade-time, a professional development program and time off for training and travel expenses.
Walker County Fire Rescue provides fire protection, emergency response and other public safety services throughout Walker County.
