A former Walker County Schools athletic director and assistant principal has been sentenced to 60 years in prison following a child pornography investigation conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The Catoosa County Clerk’s Office confirmed Thursday that Ronnie Massey was sentenced to 60 years. He will serve the first 25 years of the sentence in prison, with the remaining 35 years to be served outside prison under the terms of his sentence.
Massey was arrested in 2025 following an investigation by the GBI. He was initially charged with multiple counts of computer pornography and offenses related to the exploitation of children.
Massey was employed by Walker County Schools when the investigation began. He had been the Athletics Director at LaFayette High School. Public employment records list him as an assistant principal with the school district at the time of his arrested.
Massey resigned from his position in June 2025.
The 60-year sentence extends beyond the charges and arrest announced when the investigation first became public last year, with Massey now facing 25 years of incarceration as part of his sentence.
