The Walker County Animal Shelter is offering special adoption fees as part of a national adoption event sponsored by the BISSELL Pet Foundation and Cathy Bissell.
Beginning tomorrow, eligible animals will be available for adoption with fees of either zero dollars or 25 dollars.
Shelter officials say the promotion comes as shelters across the country continue to face overcrowding, including the Walker County Animal Shelter.
Despite the reduced fees, adopted animals will receive significant services. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, started on age-appropriate vaccinations and wormers, and microchipped.
The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and appointments are not required for adoptions.
Officials encourage anyone interested in adding a new pet to their family to visit the shelter or view available animals through the Walker County Animal Shelter website.
