Walker County voters will head to the polls this fall for the November 3, 2026 election, with several important dates approaching for those planning to vote early, by absentee ballot or on Election Day.
Election Day voting will take place Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters casting ballots that day must report to their assigned precinct. The Walker County Elections Office says voters can use Georgia’s My Voter Page to check their registration status, polling location and other election information.
Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, and continues through Friday, Oct. 30. The Oct. 13 start date follows the state holiday on Monday, Oct. 12. Georgia’s 2026 election calendar also requires Saturday voting on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.
The Walker County Elections Office, located at 311 S. Main St. in LaFayette, will serve as an early voting location throughout the advance voting period. Saturday voting will be available from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 24, additional early voting locations will open at the Chickamauga Civic Center, 1817 Lee Clarkson Road; Rossville Municipal Civic Center, 400 McFarland Ave.; and Fairyland Community Center, 1214 Lula Lake Road in Lookout Mountain.
Regular early voting hours are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. During advance voting, registered Walker County voters may cast their ballots at any open early voting location in the county rather than being limited to their Election Day precinct. Georgia election officials confirm that voters may use any advance voting site within their county.
The deadline to register to vote or update a voter’s name or address for the November election is Monday, Oct. 5. The absentee ballot application period began Aug. 17.
Walker County’s November ballot will also include a special election asking voters to decide on proposed homestead exemptions from Walker County school district property taxes for qualifying residents age 70 and older.
