The Bank of LaFayette is giving area residents an opportunity to safely dispose of old and confidential documents during its upcoming Community Shred Day.
The free event will be held Friday, October 23, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., or until the shred truck is full, at The Bank of LaFayette Main Branch, located at 101 W. Patton Street on LaFayette Square.
Residents can bring confidential paper documents to be shredded onsite at no charge. Items can include old tax returns, bank statements, cancelled checks or deposit slips, and other documents containing personal information.
There is a limit of five boxes per visit.
Participants must remain with their items. The Bank of LaFayette will not be responsible for documents left unattended, lost or stolen.
The Shred-It truck will be located in the rear parking area of the bank’s main branch.
