NASCAR racing returns to Georgia 93.7 WQCH Sunday afternoon as the Cup Series heads to one of the sport’s most historic and challenging tracks for the Cook Out Southern 500.
Coverage begins at 4 p.m. ET Sunday, September 6, on Georgia 93.7 WQCH, giving race fans an hour of pre-race coverage before the scheduled 5 p.m. start from Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina.
Drivers will face 367 laps and 501.32 miles around the legendary speedway known as “The Track Too Tough to Tame.”
Darlington’s unique layout, narrow racing groove and unforgiving outside wall have made the Southern 500 one of the signature events on the NASCAR calendar. Drivers will have to balance speed with patience as they battle through 500 demanding miles.
From the opening pre-race coverage through the checkered flag, NASCAR fans across Northwest Georgia can follow the Cook Out Southern 500 Sunday on Georgia 93.7 WQCH.
Airtime is 4 p.m. ET, with racing scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. ET from Darlington Raceway.
