     The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man connected to an incident in Rossville. The man was seen driving a dark-colored SUV near 730 West James Street around 8:40 Tuesday night.       Walker County has received a $15,000 grant from AARP Georgia to boost digital access at the future site of Adventure Acres. The funds will be used to install a solar-powered charging station and public internet hotspot.  Meanwhile, after construction delays, the county says work on the park’s splash pad and pavilion is expected to resume next week.
     The City of LaFayette has announced the candidates for the municipal election on November 4th. Incumbent Phillip Arnold is running for mayor, while Kenneth Maples is the candidate for municipal judge. In Ward 1, Tom Langford faces a challenge from Glenn Gunnells. Jennifer Cook is running unopposed in Ward 2.  Voter registration for the election closes October 6th. Make sure you’re registered to have your say in LaFayette’s local government.
     Walker County health officials have released new restaurant inspection scores. Seven local establishments earned perfect scores of 100, including LaFayette Golf Club, Thyme For Cravings Catering, Heavenly Goods, Petunia’s Silver Jalapeño, Retro Snow, and Retro Snow Mobile—all based in Chickamauga or LaFayette. Pizza Hut Delivery Express in Chickamauga scored a 94. The only score below 95 went to The Smoky Gnome in Lookout Mountain, with a 92. For more details, visit our website – DiscoverWalker.com.
      In high school softball, the LaFayette Ramblers pulled off a stunning comeback against Calhoun, overcoming a 7-run deficit and two weather delays. Pitcher Marlie Day went the distance, striking out five and allowing just three earned runs. At the plate,  Addi Hogue had four hits. Tamra Yancy crushed a three-run homer, and several others chipped in key RBIs. The Ramblers’ total team effort sealed the win. LaFayette is back in action Saturday, hosting Dade County in a varsity and JV doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
