All Walker County Government offices will close early at 11:00 a.m. This is to allow county employees the opportunity to attend an employee appreciation event. This includes all county locations, such as the landfill, planning, tag and tax offices, the tax assessor, Clerk of Courts, and Probate Court. Please plan accordingly, and if you need to take care of any business, be sure to do so before 11:00 a.m.

The Walker County Health Department will be offering free screenings today. From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., they will provide hearing, vision, dental, and nutrition check-ups, along with the required 3300 Forms for school enrollment. Rock Spring voters have a new place to vote in the Public Service Commissioner Special Election next month. If you normally vote in the 500 Building on the GNTC campus, you will now vote in the 600 Building. The 500 Building is undergoing some construction this summer. The 600 building is right next door and signage will be posted.
The latest restaurant health inspection scores for Walker County. In LaFayette, Bojangles scored an 89. Viena Bier Garten got a 99. Domino’s Pizza received a 93. Hardees got a 91. In Chickamauga, Hardees got a 97. The Homestead received a 95.

Catoosa County Authorities are currently searching for a man on an electric scooter who is wanted in connection with a theft at the Victory Fuels gas station. The suspect was last seen on May 8th, pushing the scooter from the gas station located on West Cloud Springs Road.
