           Twenty-two candidates are running to replace former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.  The crowded field includes 17 Republicans, three Democrats, a Libertarian and an independent.  All candidates will appear on the same all-party ballot March 10.  If no one wins a majority, a runoff will be held April 7.  The district, which includes Walker County, is considered the most Republican-leaning in the state.  High-profile Republican candidates include the district attorney , a state senator and a business owner.  Greene resigned earlier this month after five years in Congress.  The winner will face another round of elections later this year.  We’ve got the run down on all the candidates on our website – DiscoverWalker Dot com.
          A sanitary sewer spill has been reported.  McLemore Sewer says the spill happened between Wednesday and Thursday in Rising Fawn.  About 9-thousand-300 gallons of wastewater were released.  The discharge flowed into a pond and a nearby stream, an unnamed tributary of Mill Creek.  The spill happened behind an address on Canyon Ridge Road.  Company officials say a pump failure caused the spill.  The problem has been fixed, and the spill is no longer active.
          A Georgia man is facing charges after sending explicit images to an undercover agent posing as a minor on Snapchat.  Authorities say the conversation began on January 6, with the agent posing as a 16-year-old.  The suspect, identified as Roy Clint Madaris, allegedly sent nude photos and videos of himself.  Investigators say he also requested explicit images from the “minor.”  Madaris was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual exploitation and solicitation of a minor.
          Seven vehicles were involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Fort Oglethorpe.  It happened at the intersection of Battlefield Parkway and Dietz Road, according to Georgia State Patrol.  Troopers say an 83-year-old Ringgold woman driving a Ford Explorer mistakenly pressed the gas instead of the brake.  Her vehicle struck several cars stopped at a red light, triggering a chain-reaction crash.  The Explorer flipped and struck another vehicle before coming to rest in the roadway.  Four drivers were taken to the hospital. Two have since been released.  Charges are pending against the driver of the Explorer.  The crash happened around 2 p.m.
         The 2026 LaFayette High School Football Schedule has been released.  The Ramblers will have a pre-season scrimmage on August 7th at LFO.  The regular season kicks off on August 21st on the road at Chattooga.  The home opener is August 28th against Dade County.  The open date for the Ramblers is September 4th.  The following week features a home tilt again in county rival Ridgeland.  The second bye week is set for October 16th.  You can view the entire schedule on the Rambler Football Facebook page and also on our website at DiscoverWalker.com.
