Some Walker County residents are getting fed up with water problems that keep coming back — including outages and brown water. Residents say they’ve gone hours without water, and Morning Pointe Assisted Living was without service for about seven hours last Tuesday. Schools also experienced an outage last week. Walker County Water and Sewer General Manager Brandon Whitley told WRCB-TV in Chattanooga that pressure problems and aging infrastructure are contributing to the issue. The department plans to replace up to a mile and a half of water line and install pressure reducers. Whitley says the work is being prioritized, with crews coordinating around the school fall break.

Georgia’s firearms deer hunting season opens this Saturday and runs into January. State wildlife officials say hunters harvested around 250-thousand deer last season. Hunters must also report every deer harvested through Georgia Game Check within 24 hours. For hunting regulations, public hunting areas and license information, visit Georgia Wildlife dot com.
