The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a new wave of phone scams. Sheriff Gary Sisk says scammers are pretending to be deputies, demanding money and threatening arrest.  Remember—no real officer will ever call to demand payment or threaten you over the phone. Court matters are handled in person, never by phone.  If you get one of these calls, hang up immediately and report it. For questions, contact the Sheriff’s Office using their official number. Stay alert and don’t fall victim to these scams.
The Walker County Board of Education will hold a planning session today at 6 p.m. at the Advancing Education Center on Osburn Road in Chickamauga.  The agenda includes special recognitions for Ridgeland High School AP Scholars, along with updates on school facilities, finances, curriculum, and the LAUNCH program.  Superintendent Damon Raines will also present his report, and the board will review a transportation contract for LaFayette High School.  The meeting is open to the public.
The LaFayette High School volleyball team brought home second place from last weekend’s Trojan Invitational. The Ramblers made a strong run, with wins over North Murray and Gordon Lee, before falling to 5A powerhouse Allatoona in the championship.  A big congratulations to Jaslyn Capello, who recorded her 1,000th career assist. Freshman Makenna Clark led the team with 34 kills, while Gracie Rambo and Kaylee Scoggins added strong performances. LaFayette is back in action today at Gilmer, facing both Gilmer and Heritage.
