A northwest Georgia jury has convicted Daniel James Craig in a deadly DUI crash that killed 85-year-old Opal Vaughn back in 2017. Prosecutors say Craig was drunk when he crossed the center line on Taylor’s Ridge in Chattooga County, hitting Vaughn’s car head-on and injuring her two sons. Witnesses saw him driving erratically and later admitted he’d been drinking until 4 a.m. that day. Craig had multiple DUI arrests, including one just 20 days before the crash. He’s now been sentenced to 30 years — 10 behind bars, the rest on probation.

Out of respect, Gordon Lee will not travel this week. The game is rescheduled for October 10, with Gordon Lee visiting Gordon Central on October 17.
