Investigators are continuing to look into a shooting that happened Sunday night at a home on Highway 337 in Chattooga County.
Sheriff Mark Schrader says the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between a father and son.
Authorities say the 34-year-old son returned home highly intoxicated and became aggressive, repeatedly confronting and head-butting his father while making threats toward both parents.
Investigators say the father first fired a warning shot into the floor, but was later pushed onto the porch, where he fired again as the son approached, striking him three times.
The son remains hospitalized. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
