          The Walker County Board of Education will hold its regular meeting tonight.  The session begins at six p.m. at the Walker County Department of Education Building on North Cherokee Street in LaFayette.  Board members will recognize the LaFayette Middle School Ramble Radio Club during special recognitions.  The agenda includes the superintendent’s report, a facilities update, and approval of the district’s financial report and local facilities plan.  The board will also consider several consent items and may enter executive session.  The meeting is open to the public.
          Gas prices are moving higher across the area this week.  AAA reports local prices are up two cents from last week.  The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Dade, Catoosa, and Walker counties is now two-fifty-four.  In the Chattanooga area, prices jumped eight cents in the past week.  Nationally, the average price edged up to two-eighty-two a gallon.  That’s still well below last year’s average of three-twelve.  Across Georgia, the statewide average is two-sixty-four a gallon.
            The Catoosa County Tax Commissioner’s Office at Constitution Hall in Fort Oglethorpe will temporarily close for remodeling next month.  The office will shut down February sixth and is expected to remain closed for up to six weeks.  During the renovation, residents needing vehicle tags, titles, or to make payments should visit the Ringgold Tax Commissioner’s Office.  That’s located at 796 LaFayette Street in Ringgold.  Officials say the Fort Oglethorpe location will reopen once renovations are complete.
           City of Summerville water customers may notice low water pressure today due to maintenance work at the water treatment plant.  Officials say the work is expected to begin and end today.  Customers are advised to plan ahead and limit water use if possible during the maintenance period.  Normal water pressure should return once the work is complete.
