A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect for this weekend and into next week.  Looks like we may see more freezing rain or sleet than actual snow.  There is a good chance of ice forming on trees, powerlines and roads.  Temperatures are expected to remain fridged into the middle of next week with lows in the teens or colder.  In anticipation of the winter weather moving in. County officials say they will have multiple salt trucks stationed throughout Walker County before the winter mix moves in.  The county is using a special type of blue salt that will allow salt truck drivers to see what areas have already been treated.  When the ice melts the salt gives a blue tint to the road surface.   LaFayette High School has moved up the tip off time for Friday nights basketball games against Gordon Lee.  The girls game will now tip off at 5pm, with the boys game following at around 6:30pm.  You’ll be able to hear both of those games Friday night on WQCH
