2.6 Magnitude Earthquake Occured Southwest Of LaFayette This Morning

According to the United States Geological Survey(USGS), around 8 am EST on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake occurred southwest of LaFayette, in Menlo, GA. While this earthquake was deemed a mild to moderate quake by USGS, at least 25 households from the surrounding areas have reported feeling it so far. According to USGS, our area is located in the East Tennessee Seismic Zone, so we tend to have these smaller not so eventful occurrences.
