Walker County voters have this week to cast their ballots early ahead of next week’s municipal elections and a countywide referendum on the proposed 2026 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).
According to the Walker County Elections Office, 865 ballots had been cast through Saturday evening across all three early voting sites. Polls are open through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Walker County Courthouse in LaFayette, the Chickamauga Civic Center, and the Rossville Municipal Civic Center.
This year’s ballot features key municipal contests in Chickamauga, LaFayette, and Rossville, along with the SPLOST referendum — a proposed one-cent sales tax to fund capital improvement projects throughout Walker County and its municipalities.
