The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at the Handi-Mart on Highway 48 in Menlo.
According to Sheriff Mark Schrader, a man dressed in dark clothing entered the store around 1:00 a.m. armed with a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled the scene on foot after obtaining cash.
Deputies and investigators responded to the scene shortly after the incident. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and review surveillance footage as the investigation remains ongoing.
