LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn. — The Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man accused of vandalism at the historic Cravens House.

According to park officials, surveillance cameras captured the suspect around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, in the area near Cravens House. The man was reportedly with a group of other young men at the time of the incident.

The National Park Service notes that Cravens House is the oldest surviving structure on Lookout Mountain and played a significant role in the Civil War’s 1863 “Battle Above the Clouds.” The landmark, though not open to the public, remains one of the mountain’s most important historical sites.

In photos released by the park, the suspect is seen wearing a tan short-sleeve shirt, black pants, and black open-toed shoes. The group was last observed leaving the scene in what appeared to be a silver Nissan SUV.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact Law Enforcement Park Ranger J. Young at 423-298-7437.
