Residents looking to securely dispose of sensitive documents will have the opportunity to do so during the upcoming Community Shred Day, hosted by The Bank of LaFayette on Thursday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or until the shred truck is full.
The event, held at the main branch’s rear parking area at 101 W. Patton Street on LaFayette Square, is free of charge and open to the public. Attendees can watch their documents being shredded onsite, ensuring secure disposal of confidential information.
Each participant is limited to five boxes per visit, and individuals must remain with their items throughout the process. The Bank of LaFayette will not be responsible for items that are left unattended, lost, or stolen.
Suggested items for shredding include:
Old tax returns
Bank statements
Cancelled checks or deposit slips
Personal files or documents containing private information
The shredding services will be provided by Shred-It, a trusted national provider of document destruction services.
