Lee School Road Water Treatment Plant Update
If you were affected by the Water Boil Advisory from December 30th–January 6th, this message is for you.
Since the advisory ended, our engineers have been closely monitoring the source water at the Lee School Road plant. While short-term process changes have allowed limited operation, an unknown external cause continues to stir up the source water, leading to concerningly low tank levels. If this continues, water pressure issues could affect households, and another Water Boil Advisory will become necessary.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Help us navigate this challenge together by conserving water now:
✅ Fix leaks – Even tiny drips make a big difference! Running toilet tanks are a huge culprit.
✅ Limit shower time – Keep showers to 5–7 minutes.
✅ Turn off the tap – While brushing your teeth or shaving.
✅ Run full loads only – For dishwashers and washing machines.
✅ Catch unused water – Use a bowl to collect water when waiting for it to warm up.
✅ Skip the garbage disposal – Compost food scraps instead.
City Leadership has been working tirelessly to secure an advanced filtration system as a medium- to long-term solution. If all goes well, this could be in place by the end of this week.
By conserving water now, we can prevent another Water Boil Advisory. Thank you for your understanding and for working with us to respond to this challenge.
