CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — The Catoosa County Fire Department has officially launched its second annual Explorer Camp, welcoming future firefighters from across the region for a week of hands-on training and team-building.

Hosted by the Catoosa County Fire Department Explorer Post 2305, the camp brings together young participants from Trenton/Dade County, Hamilton County, and Bartow County. All training takes place at the county’s state-of-the-art Fire Training Center.

Day one was packed with action, including search and rescue drills, building entry training, and maneuvering charged hand-held hose lines into structures. The exercises tested the explorers’ physical strength, technical skills, focus, and—most importantly—their ability to work as a team.

This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity for aspiring firefighters to gain practical experience and develop the core values essential to the profession.
