A Catoosa County man is among 11 individuals arrested during a four-day undercover sting targeting online predators in Whitfield County. The operation, named Operation H.O.O.K. (Hands Off Our Kids), focused on identifying and arresting suspects attempting to sexually exploit minors through online platforms.

Jonathan Monroe, of Catoosa County, was charged with attempted sex trafficking, according to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Scott Pierce described those arrested as “among the sickest types of criminals” and said the goal of the operation was to “covertly identify and arrest individuals attempting to sexually exploit minors within our county.”

The arrests stemmed from a collaborative effort involving the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and local law enforcement. GBI Agent Brian Johnson said the suspects used social media and dating platforms to try to lure children for illegal sexual activity.

The operation was driven in part by more than 38,000 cyber tips received by the state this year related to suspected online exploitation.

The 11 suspects and their charges are as follows:

  • Jonathan Monroe, Catoosa County – Attempted sex trafficking

  • Vaughn Scarbrough, Dandridge, TN – Attempted sex trafficking

  • Enrique Lopez, Whitfield County – Human trafficking

  • Joshua Molina, Whitfield County – Child exploitation by electronic means

  • Brandon Bolick, Gordon County – Attempted sex trafficking

  • Corey Daniel Huff, Gordon County – Human trafficking

  • Rolando Mendez Bamaca, Bradley County, TN – Human trafficking

  • Mark Antonio Andrade, Whitfield County – Child exploitation by electronic means

  • Daniel Joseph Clark, Whitfield County – Human trafficking

  • Swami Shinde, Bradley County, TN – Human trafficking

  • Jared Miles Malbrough, Cobb County – Human trafficking

Officials revealed that Joshua Molina is a known member of the Surenos 13 Gang, and Rolando Mendez-Bamaca is an illegal immigrant, both facts adding complexity to the charges they face.

Sheriff Pierce emphasized the need for parental vigilance in monitoring children’s online activities, stressing that education and awareness are key tools in protecting minors from predators operating in digital spaces.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may follow.
